Hey, my favorite 6th graders in the whole universe!

This blog is the best idea I've had all year. And you know that I've had some good ones. Like, for instance: the RAFFLE, the Table Team Competitions, the Who Can Grow a Fro contest (Darren and Jerris, I'm expecting some rad hair from you by the end of the summer), and, the one you love the best, the Chew Gum in my Room and Spend the Day in ISS game. Well, maybe you're not big fans of the last one, but you'll dig this. So listen up. Or, should I say, Keep Reading.

We began our book adventure when Ms. T and I brought back all those books from the book bank. I know that many of you went to town and really read up a storm. You're awesome. This blog is to help you keep going with that. Others of you didn't quite step up to the plate during the year, so here's your second chance at bat.

I'm going to regularly post reading ideas and summaries of books I read over the summer that I think you'll like. You can respond to me and everyone that reads this by replying to my blog postings. AND, for those of you who are really adventurous, I'll let you post recommendations about books that you read and love. It can go full circle.

There are only a few rules to using the blog site. First, you must come in the room and sit quietly. Second, no talking while the teacher is talking...just kidding. It's summer! Actually the only thing that is important to me that you be careful of is that your comments are appropriate for an educational setting. Remember, your peers will be reading this, as well as your teacher. If your remarks aren't okay, I'll delete them.

Another perk to this is that we can keep in touch over the summer. I know you'll miss me (wink). I know for sure that I'll miss YOU, and that I'll want to keep up-to-date on your lives and reading.

So, let's get going! When you read this, post a reply to get us into practice. It'll be fun. And, you can even chew gum while you're at it.

Hasta, B
